Our Story

Altitude Roast was born from a simple idea: coffee should taste as alive as the mountains it comes from. Our journey started more than two years ago, on a small farm tucked away in the Himalayas at 1,500 meters above sea level. The high altitude, cool climate, and pure mountain soil gave us the perfect setting to grow coffee slowly and naturally.

We spent years preparing the land, caring for our trees, and learning from generations of farmers in Nepal. What began as a dream has grown into something we’re proud to share with coffee lovers across the world.

Why Himalayan Coffee?

Coffee from the Himalayas is different. The altitude allows the beans to mature more slowly, packing in more flavor. The result is a cup that is smooth, aromatic, and naturally sweet; often with notes of cocoa, caramel, and brown sugar.

This distinct taste is what people around the world now recognize as Himalayan Coffee.

Coffee grown in the Himalayas is special because of where it comes from. The high altitude means the beans grow more slowly, which makes them denser and fuller in flavor. Studies from Nepal show that coffee grown above 1,400 meters scored the highest in taste tests, with people preferring it for its smooth and rich profile.

Research also shows that coffee at higher altitudes develops more natural sweetness and stronger aromas like caramel and cocoa, while reducing bitterness. This happens because the cooler climate slows down the ripening process, allowing the beans to build up more sugars and complex flavors.

The soil in these mountain regions is healthier too, supporting the plants in a way that brings out unique fruity notes and clean acidity. All of this comes together to create a cup that tastes different from anywhere else in the world, smooth, sweet, and distinctly Himalayan.
